The Weight Of My Steel Dreams

July 4, 2011 § Leave a comment

Freight trains crying –

Chasing my turquoise tears.

Patronizing, melancholy, crippling fears

Rust my steel dreams –

Fostering the weight of the world

Behind my ears, in my irony bones.

Witless taste for Sierra’s adventure –

But my leather backpack is torn

And my burdens are accommodating my fears.

The train will keep me running

And the sun will keep me hungry –

Swallowing sorrows still.
